A bituminous membrane studied in Vetroasfalto laboratories to meet most demanding requirements. This solid and long-lasting membrane that can count on productive continuity has recently been considered one of the best on the Italian and world market.
High plasticity and flexibility make it suitable for use in most adverse climate conditions and first choice raw materials guarantee optimal results of ageing tests.
VIAPOL SIDERFLEX FIBERGLASS is reinforced with a glassfiber mat. The waterproofing compound is obtained using distilled bitumen modified with selected elastomeric polymers, which provide the compound with elongation at break up to 2000%, excellent low temperature flexibility - 25 C° and recall properties. All the above properties provide Viapol Siderflex SBS unusual resistance to thermal shock, a major contribution to roof failure.
STORAGE
In storage rolls must be placed vertically not to be stacked more than two levels. They should be kept in a covered area and protected from adverse weather and U.V. radiation.
Whenever the material is stored outdoors on pallets and in conditions of elevated environmental temperatures, it is necessary to make openings in the shrinkable polyethylene protective covering so as to enable the circulation of air among the rolls and to prevent damage from overheating due to the “green house” effect.
The handling of the rolls during loading and unloading operations must be undertaken with care so as not to compromise future use of the material.
APPLICATION
- A deck surface should be prepared accurately (all the incrustation and roughness removed).
- Bituminous primer ViaBit should be coated.
- The rolls should be aligned, with lap joints of at least 8,5cm.
- They should be melted with an appropriate propane torch.
- The end laps should be heated and refinished with a heated trowel.
